Eyelashes are not there solely to make one's eyes look more mesmerizing. Basically, its significance lies with the fact that it keeps the eyes safe. Eyelashes keep the dust and other dirt from falling into the eye. When something comes towards the eyes, they alert the eyes. These are just some of the practical use. Among many people, having nice, long and curled eyelashes are definitely attractive.

Eyelashes just like other hairs found in the body would undergo three stages. These stages involve growth and development. The first stage is known as the anagen. This is considered to be the stage where the hair is active and in its growing phase. For eyelashes, this stage would last about 30 to 45 days. Eyelashes are short. Unlike our hair, eyelashes do not easily fall out unless you pluck or pull it out.

The next phase is the catagen phase which is transition stage. In this stage, the eyelash is no longer growing as it already shrinks. The follicle is not producing hair. When the eyelash falls out in this period, it will not grow again until the catagen phase is finally over.

The phase where eyelashes fall out is known as the telogen phase. This is the phase where your hair will rest for almost 100 days before falling out. When you lose any eyelash during this phase, you can expect faster growth of new eyelashes.
